Sweet Way to Soften Hands

After gardening or other chores that get your hands dirty, add 1 teaspoon sugar to your soapy lather, and wash your hands with it. The sugar acts as an abrasive to clean away stains.

Kitchen Remedy for Dry, Damaged Hair

In a small bowl, thoroughly whisk together ⅛ cup of your favorite shampoo along with 1 teaspoon of avocado oil (available at health food stores) and ½ tablespoon coconut milk (available at supermarkets). Shampoo as usual, then rinse. This doctored-up shampoo should nourish your hair and leave it with a wonderful shine.
If you have very long hair, double the amounts in the avocado-coconut-shampoo formula.

Perfume Pick-Me-Up

Douse a small natural sponge with you favorite perfume and put it in a plastic sandwich bag in your purse.
Anytime during the day, moisten the sponge with some cold water and dab it behind your ears and knees, in your elbows and on your wrists to give you a refreshed feeling.
